The Day the World Turned Upside Down

Ten years ago, on a normal school day morning, I answered my phone and I remember being told to turn on my television. It was after the first plane had hit one of the twin towers. It was horrific. Along with many other Americans I stayed glued to my television and watched in horror as the events played out before my eyes. Events I could not believe were happening. How could this take place in America?

The twin towers, the Pentagon, the fields of Pennsylvania~ all places of honor where men and women lost their lives. Some lost in the first moments of that brutal attack, others willingly sacrificed their own lives to save others.
9/11 will never be the same again. As a people I hope that it is more than a date. I hope that it is a time that we remember, reflect, and resolve to hold those close to us a little longer and enjoy the precious moments we have with them.

And I hope we try to be better than we were before, as individuals, and as a nation.

Roast and Toast

Our church had a camp out this past Friday and Saturday. We were celebrating the last of summer and the start of a new school year. The main attraction, you got it, roast pig roasted the Samoan/Tongan way. And it was Delicious with a capital D!!

It is always fun to see ward members and their families and just relax with them. They work so hard to make their families and our ward successful. It's nice to have a little down time with them.

And the camp sites are so pretty right along the river. So calming. Don't you agree??

Hiding Out

Don't you wish that sometimes you could just hide out for the day???

My cat does it all the time. She goes under what ever is available and no one can find her. It seems to cut down on her stress of what to do first when your house needs repair or someone needs you RIGHT NOW! Or some other major decision needs to be made.

My major problem is that I just don't seem to be able to figure out where to start first and then keep with it until I am done, at least in my homemaking projects. There are so many fun things to do that the regular stuff just isn't that exciting. Like washing clothes or cleaning toilets. And it doesn't help that the dog keeps barking at every little thing!!!

I think I'll go join the cat!!
